Thor is another of my favorite Avengers. I love that he’s essentially the team’s big gun who bats cleanup when their most powerful foes have knocked everyone else out and Captain America has held him back in reserve.

I got in on Hot Toys in the midst of their ‘Marvel’s The Avengers’ run so I missed out on two of the initial offerings – Hawkeye and Captain America. As I quickly got sucked in the rabbit hole that was Hot Toys collecting, both became way too cost prohibitive for me — the bidding for both pretty much starts at $400 — so I was more excited than most to be able to finally add them to my collection with Hot Toys’ ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ line.
After posing my Captain America from Hot Toys ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ line — review coming shortly — it became very clear to me that I’m gonna need to get the Thor from AOU as well.
Unlike their DC counterparts, Marvel Comics has hit the sweet spot of shaking up its universe while not ticking off longtime readers. I can speak from experience as my DC Comic purchases dropped dramatically after the New 52 debuted and Marvel’s changing directions convinced me to give more of their books a try and I haven’t regretted either decision yet.
Marvel is unleashing its big universe shifting event — Secret Wars — and we’ve already got a preview of one of the biggest fallouts from the event the All-New, All-Different Avengers. And it’s a pretty kick tail lineup sure to appeal to longtime fans, movie fans and folks who want a comic team featuring characters that resemble them.
