In a World -  Lake BellLake Bell is one of those frustratingly best kept secret actresses in Hollywood.

Sure, she’s had steady work on TV shows like “Boston Legal” and scene-stealing roles in movies including “Over Her Dead Body” and “What Happens in Vegas,” but it wasn’t hard to see that she was too talented to be relegated to the background supporting roles for the rest of her career.

Perhaps similarly frustrated with filmmakers’ failure to best highlight her star-in-the-making talent, Bell decided to just do it herself with her fantastic directorial/screenwriting debut, “In a World.” Continue reading Review: In a World

‘Over Her Dead Body’ review (2008)

Time for a skeleton in my movie critic closet. Ok. Here it goes…

“Over Her Dead Body” is one of my guilty pleasures. On rottentomatoes.com, the film has a 15% freshness rating, meaning 85% of the critics around the world think it blows, but for some reason, I liked it.

A lot of that credit goes to the leads. The vastly underrated Lake Bell gets a starring role working alongside the likeable and dependable Paul Rudd (“This is 40“) and Eva Longoria, who I’m surprised hasn’t become a bigger film star.
