Iron Patriot Marvel Quarter Scale Maquette by Sideshow Collectibles

One of the best aspects of “Iron Man 3” was an extended role for James Rhodes, who ditched his War Machine armor for the patriotic Iron Patriot gear. The armor really pops on screen and I was a big fan of the switch for Don Cheadle’s character. Sideshow Collectibles commemorates that with this excellent looking maquette.

Here’s character profile posters of Guy Pearce’s Aldrich Killian and Don Cheadle as James Rhodes/Iron Patriot from “Iron Man 3.”

In the comics, Killian created the super-soldier ‘Extremis’ virus, which will be part of the plot for the film. Now how this ties into Ben Kingsley’s Mandarin is still to be determined.

Rhodes was War Machine last time and now is in a more patriotic look more befitting his Armed Forces status.

Walt Disney Pictures released a slew of new images from next summer’s safest bet to be a blockbuster – “Iron Man 3” returning Robert Downey Jr. as the Armored Avenger as he squares off against his main adversary, The Mandarin – played by Sir Ben Kingsley.
