The Bridge Direct brings the Smackdown to the WWE Universe

After wowing us the last two years with their solid work on “The Hobbit” license, The Bridge Direct is climbing into the ring with their WWE Construction Toy Line and their LEGO/WWE hybrid looks just as impressive.

The great folks at The Bridge Direct have new figures lined up for fans of “The Hobbit,” just in time for this winter’s “The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug.”

The Bridge Direct reveals exclusive San Diego Comic-Con “The Hobbit” figure

I’m still not all that into “The Hobbit,” but I did really enjoy the main villain and the gang at The Bridge Direct is making him this year’s San Diego Comic-Con exclusive. Better start making friends going so I can snag one!

7” tall Orc Commander Azog comes in a numbered, limited edition of 2,600 pieces. Azog is depicted as he appears in the prologue scene from The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. In the battle between the dwarves and an army of orcs to reclaim Moria, Azog holds the severed head of the dwarf King Thror up in victory. The figure comes with interchangeable hands – the right hand that holds Thror’s head can be replaced with a hand capable of holding either his dagger or mace, and the left hand can be switched with the prosthetic spikes that replaced the hand he lost to Thorin’s sword.

The Bridge Direct continues putting out quality offerings for their 3.75″ and 6″ line of “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey” line and now we’re getting our first look at “The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug.”

Peter Jackson confirms Hobbit trilogy

There’d been some rumors going on about it, but now Peter Jackson confirmed via his Facebook page that the originally planned “The Hobbit” is expanding from two films to a trilogy.

First look at “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey” figures

I’d grown accustomed to the nice December treat of the next chapter of “The Lord of The Rings” saga and every December since 2003’s “The Return of The King,” I’d missed hearing that familiar theme and anxiously awaiting what Peter Jackson had in store for me over the course of the next two-and-a-half hours.

Fortunately, Jackson is returning to Middle Earth with the LOTR prequel, “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey,” which opens Dec. 14 and I can’t wait for it.

The fine folks at The Bridge Direct, Inc. are handling the figures on this outing and sent along some images of what you can expect from their figures later this fall. Thankfully have included a 6″ scale for those of you (like me) who want to add to their existing Toy Biz collection from the previous three Middle Earth films.
