Rest assured Star Wars fans. You won’t have to complain endlessly about how Director J.J. Abrams further ruined your childhood. Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens is everything we initially loved about the franchise and exceeds expectations that will likely leave a new generation obsessed about a franchise from a galaxy far, far away.

Among the highlights for me was Harrison Ford and Billy Dee Williams reconnecting and seeing the new cast members reveling in the excitement and the fanfare of their hard work.

We’re finally closing in on my most anticipated movie of 2015 — Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Just three more months to go now. And with it comes an onslaught of action figures.

On Force Friday, my most anticipated purchases were grabbing all of the Star Wars Black Series figures. Course that apparently was the thought of everyone else so I had to wait a few days before I got the 6″ goodness from Hasbro.

I’m breaking the first wave down according to their numbers so we’re starting with 01 in the series — Finn (Jakku) — who seems like a lock to be my favorite new hero in the new trilogy. Let’s see if is the chosen one of this wave.

Force Friday failed, but fun for Star Wars fans

I was geeked to head out to Toys R Us and stand in line for the first crack at Star Wars: The Force Awakens merchandise. For my haul, I probably would’ve been just fine staying home, but it’s all about the experience, right?

John Boyega’s character Finn is shaping up to be a pivotal character in the new Star Wars trilogy.

I was already excited about his involvement in the series as he was positioned to be part of the new trio of main heroes alongside Rey (Daisy Ridley) and Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac) much in the same way Luke Skywalker, Han Solo and Princess Leia were in the original trilogy.

But with the reveal from D23 courtesy of a promo poster given to fans in attendance, Finn looks to be far more important in the coolest way possible.
